Arthurine W. Wood was born October 21, 1939 and passed away January 24, 2023. Born and raised in Newport News VA., Mrs. Wood worked as a Bookkeeper and Office Manager for Bob Quardos Law Firm, Weymouth Funeral Home, and as an independent P&C Insurance agent for the State of Virginia. Mrs. Wood was a member of Olivet Christian Church.
Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband; Arthur W. Wood, Jr. and her son, Robert E. Wood. Mrs. Wood’s memory is left to be cherished by her sons; Rev. William A. Wood, wife ,Cindy and Harry L. Wood, wife, Viky: 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Wood’s “Angels on Earth”, Anne (her sis) and Paul Belt, Beverly Mann and Deana Lewis.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
There will be a graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wood on Thursday, February 2, 2023 @ 1pm, Peninsula Memorial Cemetery, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606. Altmeyer Funeral Home Riverside-Chapel is in charge of the services.
