Leon Bailey Bowery, 89, of Providence Forge, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Leon loved buying and working on old cars. He was a lifelong member of Emmaus Baptist Church, and a member of the masonic lodge.
Leon was preceded in death by his son, Mark Bowery; three brothers, Raymond, Charles “Buddy”, and Cecil Bowery; one sister, Phyllis Butler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gerry Bowery; one son, Michael Bowery; two daughters, Joy Hamlin (Gary), Tracy Meyer (Dale); four grandchildren, Jennelle, Jessica, and Taylor Bowery, and Reese Meyer; one great-grandchild, Dylan Bowery; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 19 at Vincent Funeral Home; 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery, New Kent, Va.
