Mr. Raymond B. Dunn, 80, of York County, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital.
Raymond was educated in the York County Public School System, graduating from James Weldon Johnson School Class of 1961.
Raymond accepted Christ in his youth and became a member of Grafton Baptist Church – Harris Grove, where he sang in the Junior Choir.
Raymond was married to the late Joyce A. Jones. This union blessed him with two sons, Raymond and Tracy; a stepdaughter, Agrean; and several grandchildren.
Raymond’s career includes various construction jobs, the Newport News Shipbuilding, ultimately retiring from the York County Public School System.
Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Tracy. His memories will forever remain with his son, Raymond T. Dunn; stepdaughter, Agrean; sisters, Mary Brown and Linda Lawson (Russell); brother, Wayne Tucker (Cheryl); aunt, Elsie Burrell (John); devoted friend, Cora Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the entire Jones family, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Grafton Baptist Church – Harris Grove, with pastor Reginald Bagley officiating. Live stream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Dunn may be viewed on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Facial coverings are required for all services.
