
Edward Thomas “Tom” Bratton, 88, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on October 15, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernestine and Edward.
E. Thomas Bratton was born in Wilmington, DE on April 15, 1934 where he lived and attended school before entering college in 1951. A graduate of the University of Delaware, Tom remained a proud “Fightin’ Blue Hen” to the end. After graduation, he began his career in hospitality in New York City at the Park Sheraton and Waldorf Astoria, working his way up to Vice President of Marketing for Marriott International. He continued his career as an executive with Metropolitan Life, from which he retired to Williamsburg, VA in 1995.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of many clubs and associations, and his favorites included the Sigma Nu fraternity U of D Delta Kappa Chapter, The New York Athletic Club, and Two Rivers Country Club. He enjoyed golf and had an active social life which led him to make many life-long friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; his son, John; his daughters, Carolyn Rothwell (David) and Elizabeth Quayle (Ken); and his grandchildren, Ronnie Rothwell and Sarah Quayle.
