Raul Peña Montez, 77, of Providence Forge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Raul was a devoted member of Samaria Baptist Church and served four years in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic. He worked for Smurfit Stone for many years, and most recently worked as the maintenance man for Samaria Baptist Church. Raul was preceded in death by his parents, José Montez and Manuela P. Gonzalez; grandsons, Aaron Montez and Gabe Carrillo; brothers, Joe, Arturo, Manuel P. Montez, and Alfredo Gonzalez. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Brenda; children, Kordi (Danny), Manuel (Darlene), Loyita (Brandon); grandchildren, Somer (Ben), Kayla, Ashton, Robert, Cruz, Gabe (Mary), Jeremiah and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Grant, Daniel, Layla, Hannah, Kaitie, Heaven and Jacob; his siblings, Beatrice Almendarez, Hortencia Jones, Daisy Rocha (Benny); sister-in-law, Jovita Montez; a special friend, Ronnie Jefferson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, October 14 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 15 at Samaria Baptist Church, 8130 Lott Cary Rd., Providence Forge, Va. with burial immediately following in the Chickahominy Tribal Center Cemetery. The family will also receive family and friends following the services in the Tribal Center.
