William Joseph Byrnes Jr., 71, of Williamsburg, passed away on June 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Byrnes Sr.
He served his country through the U.S. Army National Guard. William worked as a security agent for New York City Transit. Locally, he was a member of both St. Bede Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed golfing.
William will be missed by his wife, Sheila Gilbert Byrnes; his mother, Eileen; his sisters, Carol, Patricia, and Maryanne; his brothers, James and Gerard; his nieces, Joan, Brianne, and Shannon; and his nephews, Jack, Patrick, Sean, and Edward.
Visitation will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 3 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, where the service will also be held on Monday, July 4 at 12:00 PM.
