Kay Randall, 63, of Williamsburg

Kay Jean Randall was born on December 13, 1958, to Irene and the late Eddie Lee Randall.  Her earthly journey turned into Heaven’s reward on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

At an early age, she joined Mount Nebo Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir alongside her sister Gale.  Kay attended the New Kent County Public School System.  She retired from Eastern State Hospital with thirty years of service.

Kay loved her family and was the life of family gatherings.  Although not having children of her own she was like the mother hen to her nieces and nephews.  Not only did her nieces and nephews love her but her great-nieces and great-nephews loved her too.

Kay was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Mae Safewright and nephew, Tremayne Safewright.

Kay’s loving memories will forever remain with her mother, Irene V. Randall; siblings, Dr. Morris L. Randall Sr. (Dr. Helen) and Gale Wilson; nieces and nephews, Lavita Safewright, Morris L. Randall Jr., Maurice Randall, LaShawdel Randall, Sonya Lee, Marcel Safewright, Mark Harris, Latia Harris, and Martel Washington; twelve great-nieces and great-nephews; six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; four aunts, Ruby Whitaker, Florence Purnell, Brenda Clavet, and Marie Jefferson (Hubert); three uncles, Sherman Wallace (Angel), Earl Randall (Jackie), and Carroll Randall; great-aunt, Flora B. Randall; special friends who she called family, Andrew Smith, Dewitt Rainey, Martin Spikes, and Min. Kenneth Bailey; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Bethel Restoration Center. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the services. Interment to follow in Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, Barhamsville. Ms. Randall may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required for all services.
