STAUNTON — Leighann Bowery, 49, of Staunton, VA, formerly of New Kent, VA passed away on December 6, 2021 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Charles Bowery, Sr. She is survived by her devoted partner, Clint Harmon and his daughter Sarah and son Connor, sisters Cathy Davis (Vin), Susan Bergerard and a brother Charles Bowery Jr. (Mary Ann), a very devoted aunt, Betty Bowery, several special nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her beloved cats, Badkitteh and Evilkitteh. Leighann was born on June 10, 1972 and graduated from New Kent High School in 1990. She loved animals of all kinds and worked in various fields pertaining to animal care, lastly at Fork Union Animal Clinic. The family appreciates all the love and support from her Emmaus Church family. Thank you to the dedicated nurses and staff at UVA Medical Center and to the Hospice of Piedmont. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon December 11, 2021 at Emmaus Baptist Church, 6700 Emmaus Church Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140 with visitation at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
