Richard “Dickie” Edward Slusser Jr., 81, Machine Tender for Continental Can/West Rock for 32 Years

CHARLES CITY — Richard “Dickie” Edward Slusser Jr., 81, of Charles City, VA, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday August 31, 2021. Dickie retired as a machine tender form Continental Can/West Rock after 32 years of service. He loved to build buildings, going to yard sales, wheeling and dealing and making a “buck.” He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Doris Slusser; two grandsons, Jonathan Salomone and Stephen Doane; and by his parents, Richard and Goldie Slusser. Dickie is survived by his son Richard Edward Slusser III (Ann); two daughters, Cindy Salomone (Michael) and Deborah Gottwald (Russ); his sister, Ann Knight (John); his brother, Billy Slusser; three grandchildren, Rip, Will and Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Stella; a special friend, Jim King; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Tuesday September 7th in Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Charles City, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
