
POQUOSON — Graham P. Wilson, 54, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born in Hampton and lived in Poquoson most of his life.
Graham professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and believed that Jesus Christ died for his sins and is now spending eternity in God’s glory!
Graham was preceded in death by his father, Billy Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Beth Ann; two children, Kasey and Graham Jr.; mother, Amelia Wilson; brother, A.D. Wilson (Beth); and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graham grew up going to Trinity United Methodist Church and regularly attended Coastal Community Church. He was a dedicated public servant for the City of Poquoson and acted as the assistant city manager. Prior to that, he served as the commissioner of the revenue in Poquoson and chief deputy commissioner in Hampton.
Graham was an active member of the community throughout his life. He graduated from Radford University, where he was a founding father of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity. As an adult, he was affiliated with the Kiwanis Club, served as the president in 2014 and was awarded the George F. Hixson Fellowship in 2017. Graham served as the HOA president of his neighborhood. He enjoyed many sports, including golf, basketball, playing softball with his Capri teammates and participating in fantasy sports leagues.
Graham was a loving, dedicated husband and father. He was a friend and mentor to many. His compassion, infectious smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew him. Graham maintained a positive attitude as he battled cancer and received treatment.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 13, at Coastal Community Church, Yorktown. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 15, at the church.
The family is requesting donations to Coastal Community Church or the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
