YORKTOWN — John Scott Boyd, 60, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020.
He proudly served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. John retired from Surry Nuclear Power Plant as a construction supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and loved riding his Harley and building anything his wife or family needed.
He was preceded in death by his father and daughter, Tiffany L. Boyd.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Boyd; son, John S. Boyd; daughter, Jessica Loney; mother, Alice Boyd; stepson, Steven Finley; sisters, Pixie Melfi, Sheree Blume and Terry Guimont; brother, Bill Garrett; and nine grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who assisted with his care at the Hampton Veterans Administration Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in John’s memory.
