
VIRGINIA BEACH — Jeannie Ochs Burns, 60, lost her long battle with cancer Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Jeannie, a native of Virginia Beach, was born April 23, 1960. She was married to Daniel Burns on June 30, 1990. Married for 30 years, Jeannie and Dan spent time with family, camping and traveling.
She grew up in the Chesapeake Beach area, where she spent most of her childhood at the beach relaxing in the sun, fishing, enjoying company of her beloved friends. As a child, she helped the local fisherman clean their nets at 3 a.m. Jeannie loved adventure, creating different projects and cooking. She was always painting and refurbishing items. She was a loyal friend and loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vaughna Ochs; father, William Ochs; sister, Karen Ochs Boston; and niece, Charmaine Ochs.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Burns. She is also survived by her siblings, John Ochs (Kathy Ochs) Sandy Ochs Bennett and Bobbi Graff (Bob Graff); nieces and nephew, Chrystal Ochs (Chris West), Rian Zischke, Shea Zischke (Dawn Zischke) and Jason Burns (Amanda Burns); great-niece and great-nephew, Collin and Alexis Ochs, Ethan and Payton Zischke and Brooke Brown; and several aunts, cousins, family members from both Burns and Ochs side and beloved friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, 1457 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a mask must be worn during the service.
