NEWPORT NEWS — Nathan Christian Faison, 28, eagerly arrived on this earth before his expected time, spent 28 years this side of heaven and crossed over to his heavenly Father Monday, Sept. 28, 2020.

A lifelong Peninsula resident, he was the chief operating officer for Faison & Sons Services. His faith was strong. He loved to worship and was a member of Crossroads Community Church. He officiated two of his siblings’ weddings. From a very young age, Nathan loved nothing more than helping people; spending time with family and friends; and his sweet fur baby, Abigail. He enjoyed working and creating projects; camping with Abigail; family and friends, old and new. He was a master Mason and member of Yorktown Lodge No. 205.

Preceded in death by his sister, Nicole Burke; and both grandfathers, Michael Adams and Robert Eugene Faison Sr., he is survived by his parents, Aimee and Troy Faison; brother, Nicholas Faison (Lily); sister, Natalie Walker (Michael); grandparents, Kathy Adams, Penny and Bobby Williams and Shirley Faison; great-grandmother, Shirley Rickman; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends and special mentors.

Due to the governor’s restrictions, Nathan’s service will be private. However, services will be livestreamed on his Facebook page at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The family wishes that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Chosen Children’s Ministries.

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

Share online condolences with the family at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
