Our beloved Gloria Regina White Carter, 61, closed her eyes and entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Her earthly journey began Feb. 10, 1959, daughter of the late Rose M. White in Middlesex County.
At a young age, Gloria attended Calvary Baptist Church, Middlesex, where she confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was educated in the Middlesex County School System. On April 15, 1989, Gloria and Cornelius Lewis Carter Sr. were united in holy matrimony.
Gloria worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for over 20 years while employed at several hotels in the Williamsburg area, the last being Embassy Suites Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Carter Sr.; sisters, Joyce Reed and Kathleen Russell; and brother, James Hundley. Gloria’s fond memories will forever be cherished by her children, Tearston White and Cornelius Carter Jr.; granddaughter, Tamyjha White-Dobson; sisters, Deborah Elliot (James), Ertell Marsh (Curt), Betty Hundley (Edward), Dorothy Hundley and Shirley Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Carter may be viewed from 3 to 6 p.m., Friday, July 3, with a time of reflection from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
