Braxton Roscoe Gray, 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 15, 1942, in Tarhill, North Carolina, and moved to Virginia with his family when he was a young boy.
He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 42 1/2 years, where he worked as master electrician. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a thoughtful, loving and giving man who loved spending time with family and being outside in his yard gardening and caring for his lawn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny Gray; and parents, Albert and Minnie Gray.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Schuetz (Rick); son, Brian Gray (Angela); sister, Elsie Krauter (Dave); brother, Preston Gray; and five grandchildren, Kyle and Jordan Schuetz, Trevor and Hannah Roberts and Kara Gray.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 Armistead Ave., Hampton.
