John Cristopher “Cris” Schuszler, 49, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at his home.
Cris was born Nov. 23, 1969, in Newport News. He attended Thomas Nelson Community College. He married Virginia Riesbeck in 1991. Cris and Virginia lived in Yorktown and had three children together. Three grandchildren by John David and Courtnie followed.
Cris loved the outdoors and spent many years in landscaping. He had a very giving spirit and would help people in need with repairs to their cars or homes. He especially loved working on cars and would usually be seen with his Big Gulp cup of Mountain Dew in hand or nearby.
Cris is survived by his parents, Virginia, Linda and Bud; two sons, John David, and his wife, Courtnie, and Joseph; daughter; Carissa; and three grandchildren, Crosby, Ella and Liam.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 13, at Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Drive, Yorktown.
