Stephanie Mechele Cooper, 52, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019. She was born Aug. 11, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Stephanie was a graduate of Green Run High School, where she was a member of the gymnastic and track teams and attended Howard University. She worked as a security officer for Pembroke Mall for 15 years and Securitas at Landstown Yards for 17 years. Stephanie was a member of Union Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Cooper Sr.; one daughter, Jessica Brown; parents, Olivia and Lem Roberts; two brothers, Kendall Roberts and Marvin Roberts; one grandson, Jahki Brickhouse; stepchildren, Meoncle Cothron, Chyna Cooper, Jeroald Cothron and Charlie Cooper Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at
Beach Funeral & Cremation Services, 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Union Baptist Church, 4608 South Blvd., Virginia Beach. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
