Darlene Elizabeth Knopp, 75, passed away peacefully to join her husband, William David Knopp, Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.
Darlene was a native of Parkersburg, West Virginia. She lived in Hampton for 27 years before residing in Toano for 31 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Knopp; mother, Johnnie Mae Vance Stukey; father, Charles Edward Stukey; and brother, Gene Edward Stukey.
Survivors include her son and wife, David and Carole Knopp; daughter, Renae Knopp; grandchildren, Isaac Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler and Matthew Wheeler; great-granddaughter, Myah Yost; sister-in-law, Frances Stukey; and cousin, Agnes Roush.
Darlene believed in supporting and building her community and gave generously to local charities. She had a passion for dogs, especially her grand dogs. She also loved birds in nature and had a special appreciation for hummingbirds.
The family will receive friends and family Saturday, Dec. 22, at Nelsen Funeral home for a viewing at noon with services at 1 p.m. and burial following in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Please join the family at David and Darlene’s house after the services.
