Peggy Ann Payne Tippett, 87, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.
Peggy was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Katherine Payne; brother, Churchill Payne; and sister, Sonja Payne.
She is survived by her loving husband, Karl E. Tippett; daughters, Ann Marie (Gregory) Seward and Kathleen J. (Christopher) Kayhoe; son, Karl E. Tippett Jr.; sister, Barbara J. Cobb; and grandchildren, Patrick Seward, Bridget, John and Scarlett Ullrich, Matthew Kayhoe, Kristen Long and Jason, Emily, Amanda and Kevin Tippett.
Peggy was an administrative assistant at the Wall Street Journal, and a law firm in Rockville. After retirement, she volunteered at Saint Bede Catholic Church, Williamsburg.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, Maryland.
Memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s name to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
