Gualberto E. “Roger” Macaraeg, 92, of Virginia Beach, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.
Born in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan, Philippines, he retired from the U.S. Navy as petty officer first class after 21 years of service. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sany T. Macaraeg; sister, Ely Vidal of Canada; brother, Rudy Macaraeg of Philippines; granddaughter, Sharon Neeley, and her husband, Clint, of Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Kendall, Mason and Conner; and two stepsons, Joe Rivamonte, and his wife, Lania, and Andre Rivamonte, and his wife, Carolyn, all of Alabama.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
