Lura Lee Fannin Hylton, 76, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Clifford Fannin and Dovie Lee (Taylor) Settle.

Lura was a graduate of James Blair High School, Class of 1959. Later, she split her time between being a devoted housewife and the bookkeeper for the family business.
In her spare time, Lura enjoyed family genealogy, playing cards and getting together with family and her numerous friends.

She will be missed by her beloved husband, Clyde E. Hylton; devoted sons, Dallas Ray, James Lonnie and Christopher “Tony” Richmond; sisters, Barbara Fannin Martin and Dovie Sue Settle McCormick; brother, John “Johnny” Settle; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and six nieces.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. A celebration of Lura’s life will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
