Michael Sean Lightfoot entered into eternal rest Monday, Aug. 28, 2017. Michael was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Mattie Golden Lightfoot; grandfather, Bobby Lee Braxton; grandmother, Shirley Mae Matthews; uncles, James Monroe Lightfoot Sr. and Clarence Lee; and aunt, Willa Regina Lightfoot.
Michael was a 2007 graduate of Lafayette High School. Michael was a lyrical genius and creatively expressed himself through his music.
Michael is survived by his father, Michael Matthews (Geraldine); mother, Gerenda Robinson (Gregory); sisters, Michelle Lightfoot, Briana Robinson, Raven Porter, Jeane’ Matthews, Ciera Matthews, Kierra Matthews and Kashauna Matthews; brothers, Desean Matthews, Elliott Robinson and Devon Porte; nephews, Zayvion Dickso and Zamier Johnson; niece, Za’Miyah Johnson; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and many caring friends.
All are invited to view Michael from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 2, at St. John Baptist Church, Toano, with Pastor Reggie Berkley officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Saturday at 3083 Friendship Drive.
