Percell Alvin ‘Spot’ Brown

Deacon Percell Alvin Brown, 85, known as “Spot,” humbly transitioned to his heavenly home Friday, June 30, 2017, in Envoy of Williamsburg.

Deacon Brown was born July 25, 1932, in James City County. He was a lifelong resident of Charles City County, Va. He retired from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and James City County.

Deacon Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Virginia Brown, parents, sisters and brothers.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his three daughters, Barbara (Kevin), Joyce (James) and Yvette (Charles); four grandchildren, Michael (LaMonica), Shawn, James Jr. and Alex; three great-grandchildren, A’Zavian, Amilliyon and Jalen; brother, Walter Brown; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

Deacon Brown may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4002 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg. A funeral service, celebrating the life he lived, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery, 14321 Sandy Point Road, Charles City. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
