Ralph F. Tripicco, 72, antiques dealer who enjoyed the thrill of the hunt

Ralph F. Tripicco, 72, of Virginia Beach, died peacefully among those who loved him on Friday, June 3, 2016, at Norfolk General Hospital, after a long struggle with heart disease and diabetes. Born in Kingston, N.Y., Ralph was the son of Ralph A. Tripicco and Frances M. Tripicco of Woodstock, N.Y., who preceded him in death.

Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force, managed Woodstock Garden Center in New York, and owned Cork and Stopper Antiques in New York and later in Virginia Beach. In 2009, Ralph retired as the owner of Tidewater Neon Signs in Virginia Beach. Ralph will always be remembered for his love of a deal, buying and selling stuff. His truck was always loaded like ‘Sanford and Sons.’

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Waterous and Madelyn Vanacore.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Genevieve ‘Jenny’ Tripicco; two sons; Ralph L. Tripicco and Marc Tripicco, and his wife, Lisa; and three grandchildren, Amanda, Nicolas and Elizabeth; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Cadence; and two sisters, Flo Snyder and Teri Wacikowski, and her husband, Gary.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 6, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach. A memorial service will being held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the funeral home. Following the service, the family will gather at his son Marc’s home located at 1888 Landing Road, Virginia Beach.
