
Dorothy Green died Sept. 9, 2014, at the age of 55.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1958, daughter of the late Fred Green, Sr. and Evelynia Green, of James City County. She was a lifetime employee of Mama Steve’s House of Pancakes.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Green. Dorothy leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Chantel Vaughan (James, Jr.), Bryant Green and LaDrake Scott, all of Williamsburg; her grandchildren, James, III, Jalen and Brandon; her siblings, Zella, Fred, Jr., Melvin (Lisa), Patricia, Tracey, Sr. (Doris) and Anthony, Sr. (Tiona); her aunts, Audrey Green and Faye Manning; her uncles, Douglas Dillard (Leslie), Milton Green, Jr. (Lois), William Green (Josie), Delvin Banks (Maria) and Robert Delaney; her special friend, James Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and many caring friends.
Ms. Green may be viewed from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronald A. Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble one hour prior to the services at 5855 Montpelier Drive.
