
The Hampton Roads Academy boys and girls swimmers earned their fourth consecutive VISAA Division II swimming championships on Saturday at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Richmond.
Hampton Roads Academy finished third overall in the girls division, but crushed Division II runner-up Seton School, who finished 10th overall.
The Navigators’ 400 freestyle relay team of Nicole Piercy, Bronwyn Keating, Victoria Schoenig and Peyton Baldwin took home a state title with a time of 3:31.40.
Piercy took home an individual state title in the 500 freestyle, as well as a third-place finish in the 200 IM.
Baldwin continued her successful day by earning a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
On the boys side, the Navigators finished fifth overall and seven spots ahead of the next Division II competitor, Fredericksburg Christian.
Jared Norton took a gold medal in the 100 butterfly, and notched a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
The girls swim team was recognized with the Sportsmanship Award after the meet, and coach Jeff Scott was named the girls Coach of the Year.
