Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family around a feast complete with all the fixings.

These organizations, including churches, nonprofits, and breweries are offering free dinner for residents who are looking to connect with others during the holiday.

Here’s a list of events happening in Hampton, Newport News, and James City County that are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

James City County

• 8th Annual Harvest Feast, New Zion Baptist Church, 3991 Longhill Road on Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can also have a boxed lunch delivered to them or available for pickup. Transit bus line stop for the church is Purple Line 1.
• Operation Share, Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff’s Office, at Fire Station 1 at 3135 Forge Road in Toano from starting at noon on Nov. 23. Transportation will be provided for those in need. RSVP with the Community Action Agency at 757-229-9332

Hampton

• Y.H. Thomas Community Center, 1300 Thomas Street — Monday, Nov. 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Oozlefinch Craft Brewery, 81 Patch Road – Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Active duty, retired military, first responders and their families.
