WJCC Schools to close Wednesday until further notice

Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools will be canceled Wednesday and will remain closed until further notice.

School offices will also be closed due to impending Hurricane Florence, WJCC Schools said in a phone call to families at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

All after-school activities will be canceled starting Wednesday, and the dedication of James Blair Middle School is also canceled.

In the recorded call, the school division recommended families use their time in the upcoming days to prepare for the storm.

School staff will be preparing buildings to be used as possible emergency shelters.
