The City of Williamsburg is one of only 34 localities in the country to win a top honor for exemplary performance management initiatives.
For the fifth year in a row, the city received a Certificate of Excellence from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Center for Performance Analytics.
The award is given to governments that “demonstrate leadership in continuous improvement and community engagement using performance analysis,” said ICMA Executive Director Robert J. O’Neill, Jr.
“Performance analysis is an integral component of professional local government management, and jurisdictions meeting the certificate qualifications serve as examples for other governments to follow,” he added.
The city, along with Fairfax County, were the only Virginia localities to receive the honor.
“The continued recognition by ICMA is appreciated and recognizes the consistent effort and dedication of City employees to provide transparent and valuable public service,” said City Manager Marvin Collins.
