WILLIAMSBURG — Sweethaven Lavender Farm will be hosting a variety of fall events for the first time for the public through the months of September and October.
The feature event this fall at Sweethaven is the Harvest Twilight music series that begins Sept. 16 and runs through Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. A variety of local artists will be featured over course of the series, and some nights will even include square dancing with a caller.
“Adjusting to the demands of each new school year can be stressful. We’re providing an escape from those challenges by offering the community a beautiful setting to slow down and appreciate the changing season,” said Sweethaven Lavender Farm owner Kelly Messer. “We’ve got the music and dancing, flowers and pumpkins, and flavorful foods of fall to set the tone for what we hope will become a yearly tradition of autumn relaxation for our guests.”
The current lineup of artists includes:
- Sept. 16: Lane Rice & Corey Pavlosky
- Sept. 17: Hannah Brown & Corey Pavlosky
- Sept. 23-24: Erik Gaines
- Sept. 30: Square Dancing Caller
- Oct. 1: Erik Gaines
- Oct. 7: Square Dancing Caller
- Oct. 8: Joe’s Day Off
- Oct. 14-15: Peter Budnikas
Hampton Roads Winery will serve wine by the glass and picnic boxes will be available for pre-order. Additional food and drink options include pumpkin pie spice cotton candy, lavender ice cream, cold-brew lattes, caramel popcorn and other fall-themed treats.
Tickets for Sweethaven Harvest Twilight are available online for purchase and are $8 for adults, $4 for kids ages 6 to 12, and free for kids 5 and under. Hayrides are included with weekend admission.
The retail shop will be open and offering its full line of lavender skincare items (formulated and crafted on-farm), artisan-made gifts and lavender culinary products. Heirloom pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, mums, asters and other fall décor will be available for purchase as well.
In addition to the Harvest Twilight music series, Sweethaven is also hosting three harvest art workshops on Sept. 22, Oct. 1 and Oct. 8. The workshops offer different experiences and the ticket cost varies depending on the art piece. More details can be found on the Sweethaven Lavender Farm website.
