JAMES CITY COUNTY — Starting as early as Thursday evening, March 17, drivers on Longhill Road will encounter a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Longhill Road (coming from Route 199) and Williamsburg West Drive.
According to a press release from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the intersection’s new permanent traffic signal will be activated and the dedicated left turn lane coming from Longhill Road to Williamsburg West Drive will be open to traffic.
The intersection will also feature a dedicated right turn lane from Longhill to Lane Place Drive as well as one through lane that continues down Longhill.
For the safety of motorists and project crews, the one through lane at the intersection and along Longhill Road will remain temporarily closed to allow crews to complete the remaining construction activities along the project corridor.
All construction work is dependent upon weather conditions.
VDOT also advised that motorists should continue to anticipate delays as construction activity continues along the Longhill Road corridor and Olde Towne Road.
