Resource Officer Responds to Bomb Threat at Tabb High School

A Tabb High School Student made threats against the school using the word “bomb. The threat was found not to be credible.

YORK COUNTY — On the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 19, a school resource officer at Tabb High School was made aware of a 15-year-old student making verbal threats against the school which included using the word, “bomb.”

After looking into the matter, it was determined that there was no weapon on school grounds.

Further investigation showed that the student in question was in possession of marijuana. The student was turned over to the custody of the parents and placed with an ankle monitor.

The York-Poquoson Sheriffs Office (YPSO) and the York County School Division (YCSD) wants the public to know that all reports are taken seriously and are investigated thoroughly. Both YPSO and YCSD ask that any threat or concern be reported directly to law enforcement.

York-Poquoson Sheriff J.D. “Danny” Diggs said of the incident, “Once again, I am extremely pleased that a student came forward with this information. I am proud of the efforts of our Deputies, School Resource Officers, Investigators, and the collaborative effort between the York County School Division. I am thankful for the quick manner in which the case was handled and the swift conclusion of this case to help to put people’s minds at ease.”
