WILLIAMSBURG — The Lord Botetourt Auction is celebrating its thirty-third anniversary next month.

The auction was held remotely last year due to COVID-19. However, this year’s event is scheduled to be in-person at Hunter Hall at the College of William & Mary’s (W&M) Alumni House on Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m.

The Auction is the Tribe’s largest athletic fundraiser of the year. In 2021, the event raised over $340,000; just short of the record set in 2014 when the auction raised $401,688 during its 25th anniversary.

Some of the auction donations include dinner with President Katherine A. Rowe, tickets to sporting events and golf outings, as well as to travel destinations.

There will be multiple home athletic events over the weekend including a kickoff reception that will be held in the Person Room at Kaplan Arena before the women’s basketball game against Northeastern University on Feb. 18. On Feb. 19, W&M’s mens basketball team will be playing University of Delaware. Additionally, men’s and women’s lacrosse will have home matches on Friday and Saturday of that week.

Registration for all events will begin on Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. at the Tribe Auction website. Tickets for the auction will be $250.

A complete schedule of W&M sports can be found on the Tribe Athletics website.
