There are many questions about the vaccination process, like when is it available and where can people get it?

So many questions, that the City of Williamsburg and James City County, in partnership with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, have created an information line for the community’s questions about the vaccination clinic at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center.

That clinic began administering the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to Williamsburg-James City County Schools staff Jan 22 — the first group to receive vaccinations at the temporary clinic.

The phone number is 877-724-1954.

The phone line is not meant to replace the Virginia Department of Health nor does it provide different information about the vaccine.

“This line is meant only to clarify information specific to the vaccination clinic at the Visitor Center and relay the most current information from VDH,” a news release from the City of Williamsburg stated.

The Visitor Center clinic is not open to the general public yet and the customer service team, provided by Colonial Williamsburg, is not scheduling appointments at this time.

“We may not be able to satisfy the understandable desire to get your vaccination scheduled, but this phone line provides the community a point of contact that has the most up-to-date information for this area,” Williamsburg City Manager Andrew Trivette said in a statement from the news release.

The Visitor Center clinic is one of the three clinics established to serve the peninsula but is only serving James City County and Williamsburg residents, according to a regional joint news release from Jan. 22.

The two localities have also launched a ‘Frequently Asked Questions; page to provide answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

This page will be kept updated with the latest information on the vaccination distribution for the Williamsburg and James City County community.

For medical questions about the vaccine or in-depth information on the statewide phased distribution system, visit the Virginia Department of Health’s website or call 877-275-8343.
