Williamsburg Launches Phase 3 of Pandemic Relief Grants

WILLIAMSBURG — The City of Williamsburg has announced the launch of its Phase 3 COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program.

The program, which is managed in partnership with York County and the City of Poquoson, helps small businesses ny providing a small reimbursement for expenses incurred due to rent or mortgage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This third (and final) phase will offer grants for up to six months of rent or mortgage reimbursed. The capped amount for the grants is $15,000 and is only available for small businesses located in the three partnered municipalities.

During the period of time in which the grants reimburse for, these businesses must have employed twenty or less full-time-equivalent employees at any point since March 12, 2020. Additionally, the businesses must have been established prior to the March 12, 2020 date.

If businesses qualified grants during Phase 1 and/or Phase 2, the amount received will count towards the $15,000 cap.

According to the City of Williamsburg, this program has been funded by a Community Development Block Grant through the Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development.
