Man, 63, jailed in connection with alleged sexual battery of two children in James City County

James City County Police have made an arrest in connection with child sexual battery allegations dating back to 2012.

First the suspect: Michael J. Trevelino, 63, was extradited last week from The Villages in Florida back to Virginia – where he facing serious charges.

Police said he is related to the alleged victims.

James City County authorities received the complaint in October last year from a woman who “believed her children may have been inappropriately touched” by Trevelino.

During the course of the investigation, James City County Police with Child Protective Services identified two girls – 16 and 14 years old at the time of the report – as victims, authorities said.

Trevelino is charged with aggravated sexual battery in connection with incidents with the 14-year-old between June 1 and Sept. 3, 2012 in James City County, police said.

He is also charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of object sexual penetration in connection with the 16-year-old between April 23, 2013 and April 22, 2015 in James City County, police said.

Trevelino is being held without bond in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
