As summer begins to wind down, Busch Gardens is helping patrons stay cool in the remaining summer heat with its annual Bier Fest.

This year’s Bier Fest will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Aug. 16 to Sept. 2 at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and feature more than 100 beers, live local bands and traditional German food, park officials announced in a news release.

This year, there will be new beer and food selections, as well as “brewery talks” given by popular craft brewers, according to the news release.

Beer, some of which is from local Virginia craft breweries, will be served in both bottles and on draft at beer bars throughout the park.

The Bier Fest is free with park admission, but only available to guests 21 and older. Beer must be purchased for an additional fee.

For those who work up an appetite, there will be returning offerings such as turkey legs and beer-battered bratwurst. New selections include a bratwurst burger slider and pretzel bites with beer cheese and bacon, according to the news release.

The Busch Gardens Burgermeister will host a firkin keg-tapping ceremony on each Friday between Aug. 16 and Sept. 2.

Live music includes:

  • Daily performances from The Happy Dutchman
  • Aug. 17: Good Shot Judy, a big amp jazz ensemble
  • NEW! Aug. 24: Martin & Kelly, traditional and new country music
  • NEW! Aug. 30 – 31: Broke Royals, new American rock
  • Aug. 31: Vinyl Headlights, variety of rock, pop and dance music
