Once again, Williamsburg has made a list of top places to see in America.

This time, Travel + Leisure magazine named Williamsburg among the 15 Best Cities in the United States. The list was released July 10.

Williamsburg made No. 13, among other, larger cities such as Honolulu, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Austin.

The top-15 rankings are based on Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards survey, which asks magazine readers about their travel experiences. For the best city, travelers rated cities on their sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping and overall value, according to the magazine.

Williamsburg scored 80.51 points, while D.C. — the lowest-ranking city on the top 15 — scored 80.09.

The highest-ranking city, Charleston, South Carolina, scored 87.04.

Of the 15 cities, seven are below the Mason-Dixon Line.

In May, Williamsburg also appeared in Travel + Leisure in another list: the best places to travel to in July.

Travel + Leisure focuses on travel inspiration and gives readers information on trips and vacations around the world.

Earlier this year, the New York Times also featured the Historic Triangle in the 52 Places to Go in 2019 guide.

In that article, the writer discussed the 1619 Commemoration that features events throughout the region, specifically the ones commemorating the arrival of the first Africans in Jamestown and the organization of the first representative government in the New World.

Those events are ongoing, and expected to peak this month for the 400th anniversary of the meeting of the first legislative assembly in the New World.
