New Website Launched for Williamsburg Botanical Garden

WILLIAMSBURG — Web Development Technology Partners Inc. has developed a new website for the Williamsburg Botanical Garden and Freedom Park Arboretum, located in Freedom Park.

Mary Sipe, president of the Williamsburg Botanical Garden Board of Directors, reached out to WDTP about redesigning the website, a process that, in addition to website construction, included help with email, payments made online and form submissions.

One of the highlights of the new website was the creation of a new map of the garden. The map is digital as well as printable, so that visitors can have it with them while they are at the garden. This new map is an overall year-round map that will not change seasonally.

The goal of the website update was to help users better understand what the garden had to offer, as well as to make it easier to navigate, and WDTP said it worked with the garden to make sure that those needs were met. It also aimed to help take strain off the garden’s volunteers by making it easy to make changes and minimizing the phone calls they had to answer.

“It was really fun and meaningful to work on this as a lifelong Williamsburg resident,” said WDTP’s Vice President and Lead Web Developer, Richard Tisdale. “We really enjoy working with local businesses and attractions. So whenever we get the chance to work with something that’s kind of a community attraction, so to speak, or a business that impacts a fair number of people, that’s always nice.”
