WILLIAMSBURG — Event venue Blissful Events officially opened its doors for business, celebrating a ribbon cutting with the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce and members of James City County on March 11.
The business, owned and operated by Shatara Taylor, started in her kitchen, where she baked cakes. While she no longer bakes cakes, she has decided to move into coordinating events at the newly-opened venue.
“I wanted to do something to where it was easier, especially after COVID. People were not able to celebrate that much and I wanted to do something where it was just easier for people to come in and be in one area, be in one spot and not have to do so much,” Taylor explained.
It was also an opportunity to celebrate the memory of her brother and the building was dedicated to him. Taylor also thanked her father for his support, along with the support of family and friends.
Blissful Events is currently accepting corporate, social, and wedding event bookings and is located at 7207 Merrimac Trail in Williamsburg. For more information, visit the official website.
