HAMPTON — The Mugler Bridge which connects Phoebus to Fort Monroe will close intermittently over the next month.
The bridge will be open Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. Detour signs are in place.
According to the city’s announcement, Fort Monroe’s waterline, which runs along the Mellen Street bridge, is being removed and replaced with a new waterline. For a month, the bridge will close weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. before closing altogether in mid-January to late April.
To access Fort Monroe from Phoebus turn left on Willard Avenue to Mercury Boulevard and then make a right on Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Bridge.
