Hampton and Newport News residents can now play disc golf

Both Hampton and Newport News now offer disc golf courses that are open to the public.

According to the Hampton city website, disc golf is similar to regular golf but instead of using a ball or club, players use a frisbee to score points.

The goal of the game is get the disc into the basket using a few throws as possible and the player with the lowest score wins. Read more about disc golf rules here.

The Hampton disc golf course is nine holes on the Hampton Golf Course. Admission is free, but players need to bring their own discs. For more information, visit the disc golf website.

The Newport News disc golf course is 18 holes and is in the Newport News Park Arboretum area. Admission is $3 for everyone except senior citizens and children younger than 12, and disc rentals are $2. You can read more about disc golf season passes and other information on the city website.
