The ‘More than a Princess’ World Changer award will be presented during the 2018 Bloom Middle School Girl’s Empowerment Conference at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in November.
“The purpose of this student-led regional conference is to provide over 300 middle school female student leaders with the knowledge and resources that will empower them to be global leaders who will return and inspire positive school culture in their respective schools,” Michelle Price, director of public information and community engagement for NNPS, wrote in an email.
The multi-day event will include a rally and a day conference with workshops about social media, self-care and other topics, according to the Bloom Conference flyer.
Only seven girls between the ages of 6 and 21 who reside in Hampton Roads will receive the “More than a Princess” World Changer award, according to the nomination form.
The 2018 Bloom Middle School Girl’s Empowerment Conference will be at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, 1610 Coliseum Drive. The Empowerment Rally is Nov. 9 (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and the conference is Nov. 10 (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
