Learn more and participate in an adapted sports event at Fort Monroe. And hey, there’s free lunch involved

HAMPTON — Get Set 4 All Inc. will host a free, adapted sports event at the Fort Monroe Community Center Saturday.

The event will have adapted sports demonstrations, including wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball, and attendees will have the opportunity to participate, according to a news release from the Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau.

Get Set 4 All Inc. is nonprofit that provides adapted sports programs to show people who are disabled the “joy of adapted sports”, according to the nonprofit’s website.

Several representatives from the Hampton Roads area will be at the event, including Virginia Beach Veterans Rowing, the Youth Volunteers Corps of Hampton Roads and the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The Adapted Sports Day event will be at the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and those who register online get a free lunch.
