NEWPORT NEWS — The Newport News Parks, Recreation and Tourism’s Youth Program’s division has opened registration for before and after school programs.
The programs are for children ages 3 to 16.
There are three program options:
- Full day that starts at 6 a.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m.
- Before school care that begins at 6 a.m. and ends when the school day starts.
- After school care that begins when school is dismissed until 6:30 p.m.
There is also a drop-in option available at certain sites, according to the city.
Families who sign up during early registration can save money on the registration fees, which range from $25 to $80.
Early registration for the Our Lady of Mount Carmel program is open and ends Aug. 5.
The regular registration begins Aug. 6 and will end when the program is full.
Early registration for programs at Newport News Public Schools begins Aug. 6 and ends Aug. 19.
Regular registration opens Aug. 20.
The weekly fees are $95 for the full day program, $45 for before school, $59 for after school, and $79 for before and after school combined.
