
NEWPORT NEWS — Local children will have the chance to learn about American history, the military and teamwork during a four-day camp.
The Virginia War Museum is hosting two different summer camp sessions in July and August. The first is from July 30-Aug. 2 and the second from Aug. 13-16.
Both camps run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and cost between $175 and $200.

The camp is centered around World War II and is for ages 8 to 12, according to a news release from the city.
The Endview Plantation is also hosting its own summer camp.
Its theme focuses on the western battles in 1863 and will feature lessons on the drills and battles of the time period.
There are two separate five-day sessions: June 25-29 and July 23-27, both from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration is now available and costs $175 per child, according to the news release.
