NEWPORT NEWS — A Las Vegas man was arrested in connection with a 2014 homicide, according to a news release from Newport News Police.
Calvon Whitehead, 34, was arrested Monday morning in Las Vegas and charged with first-degree murder, robbery, four counts of abduction, seven counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, malicious wounding and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Whitehead was arrested in connection with the homicide of Katrice Major, which took place in May 2014 on Jefferson Avenue, according to police.
Whitehead is awaiting extradition to Newport News.
