HAMPTON— This city is gearing up for National Bike Month with several bike-themed activities.
Hampton is hosting a “Words on Wheels,” self paced bike ride tour of downtown Hampton from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on May 6.
As part of the Words on Wheels competition, teams will collect letters from participating businesses and meet back on E. Mellen Street and use the letters collected on the tour to spell out a word.
The team with the word with the highest point value will win.
The event is free and open to all. The city notes that the tour is self-guided and will not have a ride leader.
