WILLIAMSBURG – The Chabad Jewish organization in Williamsburg is inviting the community to join a lecture with Holocaust survivor and international speaker Sora Vigorito, and to hear firsthand her story of survival at William & Mary on Sunday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m.

Vigorito was imprisoned at Auschwitz as a young child and was subjected to the brutal twin experiments conducted by Dr. Josef Mengele. Born in Berlin in 1941, she was deported with her family to a concentration camp, where she endured unimaginable cruelty, including repeated injections, blood draws, and invasive medical tests. Her twin sister did not survive, and she lost much of her family during the Holocaust.

After everything, Vigorito survived and rebuilt her life after liberation. Her testimony is preserved in historical archives, including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, under her birth name, Ute Seiler. Today, she dedicates her life to sharing her story so future generations will understand the consequences of hatred and the importance of remembrance.

Sora Vigorito travels across the country speaking to students, educators, and communities, offering a message of memory, moral courage, and responsibility. Her journey from profound tragedy to a life of purpose is a moving testament to the strength of the human spirit.

The event is open to the public and a limited number of meet and greet tickets are on sale for $125.

Due to limited seating and security arrangements, RSVP’s are required though ChabadWilliamsburg.org.
