HAMPTON ROADS — Fans in Hampton Roads of ABC’s “Great Christmas Light Fight” saw their hometown and Nauticus win the heavyweight title Dec. 18.
During the episode, host Carter Oosterhouse visited the attraction in Norfolk and met with the key players who put on the annual Winterfest on the Wisconsin. Nauticus employees gave Oosterhouse a tour of the entire ship and even allowed him to climb to the crow’s nest for a panoramic view of the ship in all its Christmas glory.
Not only were a trophy and bragging rights up for grabs, but also a $50,000 prize.
After winning the episode, Nauticus staff said the prize money will go towards preserving the ship for years to come.
